As the Fall and Winter seasons approach, we want to ensure that our young athletes are dressed appropriately for outdoor soccer. Weather conditions can vary, and wearing the right gear is essential for comfort and safety while playing. Here are some guidelines to help your child stay warm and dry:

  • Layer Up: Encourage your child to wear several layers of clothing. A moisture-wicking base layer helps keep sweat away from the skin, an insulating layer (like a fleece) provides warmth, and a waterproof or windproof outer layer protects against the elements.
  • Proper Footwear: Make sure your child wears soccer cleats suitable for the playing surface. In colder weather, consider thicker socks or thermal socks to keep feet warm.
  • Accessories: Hats, gloves, and neck warmers can provide additional warmth. Look for items that are designed for athletic activities, as they will help maintain flexibility.
  • Durable Clothing: Choose clothing that is not only warm but also durable and capable of withstanding rough play. Avoid cotton, as it retains moisture.
  • Stay Hydrated: Even in colder months, it’s important for players to stay hydrated. Encourage them to drink water before, during, and after practice or games.

By ensuring your child is dressed appropriately, we can help them enjoy the game to the fullest despite the chilly weather. Thank you for your cooperation!
