CLUB CHAPTERS DESCRIPTIONS

What is “House League”?

In House League you’ll be given the option to choose a group to play with: Douglas Park Soccer Club (Douglas & Quilchena Park), Grandview Legion (Clinton Park) or Vancouver Girls Soccer (Trout Lake). The main difference between the three is the home base location where the group plays.

Why all the different names? When VAFC was formed in 2013 it merged these three local Vancouver clubs. As part of the merger agreement it was agreed that VAFC would recognize the originating club names. The names of those clubs are still used as our house league names today.

Once you’ve registered your player, you’ll hear from the House Coordinator when the teams are formed, typically 2-4 weeks before the season starts in mid-September.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES & WAITLISTS
All players (U4-U18) are encouraged to register early to ensure a spot on a team. Registrations received after July 31st may be placed on a waitlist.

VOLUNTEER FEES

VAFC relies on volunteers to deliver our programming. Find out more about VAFC volunteer opportunities and volunteer fee reimbursement at VAFC Volunteers. Fees for U7 through U18, except for VAFC Rovers, have a separate $60 volunteer fee. The reimbursement is provided after November upon confirmation of volunteer participation. Volunteer fees are not charged for U11 to U14 VAFC Rovers programs.

UNIFORM FEES
VAFC does not charge an additional uniform fee for U4-U10 House Leagues and U11 to U18 Div2 and Div3 teams: Kits are provided as part of the registration fee and players must return them at the end of the season. Replacements for lost or non returned uniform kits will be charged $50 (U4-U10) or up to $100 (U11+). Any player or team also may purchase personal training gear through the VAFC club store.

DIV1/Metro and VAFC Rovers teams are required to purchase a personal VAFC uniform and training kit if they do not own one from a previous season.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
VAFC welcomes all players and provides an environment that is accessible for everyone. For information about financial assistance, including prior to registration, please contact registrar@vafc.ca to discuss in confidence. The VAFC community also works with KidsSport, Canadian Tire Jumpstart, and Athletics4Kids to help provide more financial assistance options.
