VAFC is hosting its Fifth Annual Cleat and Equipment Exchange on Saturday, March 9th 9:30am-2:30pm.

Last year we had such a success giving families the chance to trade in old cleats and shin pads that we’re doing it again! And this year we have a little something extra to offer you:

• Spare kit from the Player Development Academy
• Some soccer clothing for all ages donated by Soccer Express, and
• Brand new cleats donated by the Cambie Canadian Tire store!

The Cleat Exchange is being held on the same day as the House League Jamborees—more on that below.

How the Cleat Exchange works:

Come to the Douglas Park West field with your gently used cleats and shin pads for donation between 9:30 and 2:30pm, and you’ll receive a ticket for each pair of boots or pads that you’ve brought in.

Use your ticket to purchase equipment donated by someone else.

If you don’t have anything to donate, you can purchase donated cleats for $5 or shin pads for $2. WHAT A BARGAIN!

Soccer Express, brand new cleats and Player Development Academy items will be individually priced. All funds raised will be donated to Jumpstart, a children’s charity which helps fund children play sports in Canada.

House League Jamborees

Our end-of-season Jamboree is on the same day as the Cleat Exchange, so if your child’s team is in the Douglas Park or VGSC groups, they will be playing at Douglas Park during the same time.

There are two short games planned for each team, plus lunch and medals for the kids! Please check with your Team Manager as to game and lunch times.

ALSO: There will be over 75 teams accessing the fields from 9am-4:00pm—it will be extra busy! Plan to arrive early and/or adjust transportation plans.

The Grandview teams will be playing at Hillcrest. Please check with your Team Manager as to game times and lunch plans.
