Thank You for a Successful Food Bank Day

On December 7th, the last day where all the House League teams were together on the Douglas Park fields, VAFC Admin organized a Food Bank day to collect donations for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

We had a great turnout for volunteers – including a couple of teams – who took shifts throughout the day under our tents in the ongoing drizzle. Despite the rain, VAFC filled 41 boxes with food donations (with approximately 20 items per box) and managed to raise $624.15 for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank by selling baked goods and hot beverages.

A big thank you to everyone that came out to help the cause. Another big thank you goes to Save On Foods, Safeway, and Starbucks for donating the baked goods and beverages. The leftover items were distributed the next day to homeless.
