Attention VAFC Members: Revised Practice and Game Restrictions

Practices may continue, but under VAFC Return to Play Phase I requirements:

• No Contact and physical distancing.
• Absolutely No Spectators
• Masks are required for Coaches and Managers

Games for the weekend 4th to 6th Dec are now cancelled. The times and fields slots, for weekend games, may be used for additional practices under Return to Play Phase I requirements.

Yesterday, December 2, the BC Health Authority and specifically Dr. Henry, announced added restrictions that impact soccer in BC. These fall under the Provincial Health Authority Order so we must comply. BC Soccer just clarified the requirements this afternoon around 2PM.

Indoor and outdoor soccer for youth (under 19 years of age) is now restricted back to BC Soccer’s Phase 1 Guidelines* (the previous phase where players participated in-club “distance training” with no game-play and physical distancing) with the following restrictions in place:

• Physical distance is now classified as 3 meters.
• No spectators
• Players from one municipality may still travel to their home club/team to train.

VAFC collective goal remains to continue to provide soccer programming to the youth. We continue to appreciate your support in helping provide a flexible environment to provide soccer to our members.

*Note: The Province and Via Sport refer to “Phase 2 restrictions”. This is equivalent to BC Soccer Phase 1 Guidelines and VAFC’s Return to Play Phase 1 Requirements.
