VAFC Uniform and Equipment Return: 10 June 2020 Update

Coaches and Managers:

Thank you for contacting players regarding any outstanding uniforms last week. One issue, regarding risk and liability protections for amateur sport organizations, was just addressed by the Province today (June 10th) and we are ready to proceed to Step 2 for Uniform & Equipment Return.

Step 1: First, if you haven’t already, please follow up with any outstanding player contacts regarding last season’s uniforms under Step 1.

Step 2: For those Managers that do not already have a complete (or complete as they we ever get) uniform inventory, please set up a safe drop off space as described under Step 2. And let your outstanding players know that drop off is required between the 10th of June and next Friday, the 19th of June. If you have any concerns about this or cannot create safe drop off space, see if you can arrange an alternative drop off with the coach or, if that doesn’t work, contact us directly and we will help work something out.

Step 3: For those Managers that have already completed Step 2 or will shortly do so, stay tuned. We will be announcing locker drop off dates shortly.

Step 1 – Contact Players with Outstanding Uniforms

Managers – many thanks to your players, coaches, and managers who already did this at season end.

  • Please contact any players who haven’t yet dropped off their uniforms and ask them to wash uniform, place in plastic bag and label the bag with Player First and Last Name, Team, and Age Group.
  • Please also coordinate with your coach to track any equipment your team still has out (balls, cones, pinnies, GK gloves)

Step 2 – Outstanding Uniform Drop Off

10 June 2020 to 19 June 2020

Managers (or Coach Delegate):

  • Please set up an equipment return bins for uniform and equipment returns. The return area must be able to maintain 6’ physical distancing at all times and minimize touch points during delivery (e.g. no need to ring door bells, touch door handles or lift bin lids).
  • It is recommended that Managers set a time for drop off, and that players/parents text/phone the Manager to make sure the delivery time works.
  • Avoid handling any returned equipment and uniforms until at least 7 days after the last drop off.
  • Make an inventory of returned equipment and uniforms.
  • Make a list of any missing uniforms / player names and place associated deposit cheques in an envelope. Please destroy uniform deposit cheques for all returned uniforms.

Step 3- Locker Drop Off

To Be Announced… likely weekends of the 20 and 27 of June.

  • VAFC staff will set up designated and staggered drop off times at our storage locker for all uniform and equipment to be dropped off.
  • Uniform / equipment drop off to the storage lockers will adhere to all physical distancing guidelines current in effect.
  • Adherence to staggered drop off times will be ensure that only a few people are in attendance at any one time to minimise queuing and contact.

Safety

At all times we ask our players, coaches and managers to follow public health guidance and precautions, including:

  • Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before and after any arranged drop off times.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home if you are sick or have been sick in the last 14 days, we will make other arrangements to collect from you when you are well.

If you have further questions or concerns please do not hesitate to get back to us at vancouverathletic@gmail.com

We thank you for your continued support for the VAFC players and we all look forward to be back on the field soon.
